Care for a tipple?  A variety of Cortland County restaurants will offer Steampunk-themed cocktails throughout the weekend.  Participating locations include, but are not limited to, BRIX Pubaria, Central City Bar & Grill, The Community, The Dark Horse, Dasher's Pub & Grill, Finger Lakes Tasting & Tap Room, Hairy Tony's, Hobo's Bar & Grill, Red Jug Pub Cortland, TRAX Pub & Grill and Three Bear Inn.  Locations will be added when confirmed.

Get your Steampunk finery on, and come join us in the spectacular sight of celebrating all things Steampunk!  Open to all costumed attendees.  Guest judges will mingle with those in attendance and determine the top costumes to be invited to the Steampunk Fashion Show at the Downtown Cortland Repertory Theatre at 2 p.m.  Those who receive an invitation have an opportunity to win great prizes!

Magpie Custom Creations at Corset Building on East Court Street, Cortland, NY 13045

Cost: $15

Visit Magpie's classroom to decorate and embellish a Steampunk-style mini hat, or learn to use our classroom sewing machines to make a simple pair of stretchy fingerless gloves. After living 80 years in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the 1931 Brockway Hearse was brought back to Cortland and has been fully restored. It is complete with a coffin, and "The Munsters."

Take a selfie with Samuel Clemens, the real Mark Twain, and learn about his inventions.  The legendary author was not only famous for stories such as Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer, but was also an inventor and received a total of three patents.

All ages welcome to our fun Alice and Wonderland themed area with coloring and crafting stations. Coloring pages for kids and adults as well as tea pot pictures, frame crafts and more.

Join Half Light Theatre company members in the east parlour of the1890 House for live performances and readings of Edgar Allan Poe’s poetry masterpieces accompanied by original music from Jeff Wahl. Poetry offerings every quarter hour.

Make your own steampunk-inspired pendant to wear as a necklace or hat clip. This DIY event will include all the materials to accessorize your pendant, including gears, keys and steampunk imagery.

Stop in and grab a beverage, snack and experience a little bit of Poe as you chat with a costumed cast member of Nevermore...An Evening of Edgar Allan Poe, maybe even meet Poe himself.

Come learn about the Cortland Wagon Industry and  what might have been the first ever Motor Bike Industry courtesy of the Cortland County Historical Society. Inventor Joel Pennington will be available to explain his plans for the revolutionary motor bike.

Paint your choice of two 16x20 octopus-themed canvas paintings with guidance from instructors.

The top costumes of Gears to Corsets will show off their finery for the opportunity to win great prizes!  Fashion show is only open to those who received and accepted an invitation during the Steampunk Promenade. All are welcome to attend as spectators.

2:00 PM - 5:00 PM | Corset Construction Part II *

Cost: $50 (Part I) / $90 (Part I and II)

Join a professional seamstress to learn tips and tricks to fashion and embellish a simple, reversible underbust corset.  Those registrants registered for both classes will continue work on the corsets started in Part 1. 2:30 PM  |  Corsets through Time

CNY Living History Center at 4386 US-11, Cortland, NY 13045

Cost: Open to the public; $5 donation requested, but not required

Take a walk back in time with local corsetier, Julia Adams, for a talk about the "bones" of corsetry in the late 18th to 20th centuries.  Learn about shapes and fabrics, techniques and innovation throughout the height of the corseted era.  Talk will include a dressing demonstration in period clothing, as well as reproduction corsets from all six of the major corset periods from 1780-1917.

5:00 PM  |  Stupendous Stache & Bodacious Beard Competition

Do you have a special set of whiskers, or a well-waxed mustache? Show off your best look at Gio's Barber Shop for the Stupendous Stache & Bodacious Beard Competition (free to enter).  

5:15 PM until all shaved  |  The Art of Straight Razor Shaving Demo

Enjoy a scintillating demo on straight razor shaving, and if you're looking to trim, and style your beard, they'll be offering shaves and haircuts. To take advantage, please book on-line and include ATTENDING STEAMPUNK FESTIVAL along with what service you'd like done. Discounts will be available for hair care and shaving products.

Create your very own custom 11x14 sea glass art with guidance from instructors.  Tons of embellishments to choose from in your design, and you are welcome to bring some of your special treasures to add.

Cost: $5 suggested donation at the door

Wrap up your day with a late night movie at the Center for the Arts Homer featuring the Director's Cut of THX1138.  The 1971 American science fiction film was George Lucas' film directorial debut.
